A family business since 1983.
James Edward Hunt founded James Hunt Construction in 1983. Jim started out in the construction industry as a hard working carpenter, and worked his way up through the ranks to become a job superintendent for Grogan and Wallace Construction. When the owners decided to retire, Jim and his wife Sondra took over Grogan and Wallace's clientele and started their own family business.
Throughout
the 1980s the business turned into a strong tenant finish contractor
while also completing its share of commercial projects throughout the
greater Cincinnati / Tri-state area. In the mid-80s, JHC began
to expand its horizons and venture into the midwest and northeast
regions to better serve several national retail clients.
Passing the torch
In 1996, Jim and Sondra decided it was time to relax and pass the torch to their daughter, Veronica Davis, and her husband Christopher. Veronica (CEO and President) has been working in the family business since the beginning; first as assistant to her mother, then working her way up to office manager before taking over the business in 1996.
Christopher (Vice President) began as assistant project manager and marketing manager in 1991 - working his way up to project manager and director of marketing and personnel. Together, Veronica and Chris have carried on the same values passed on to them by their parents: hard work, respect, honesty, and to always treat your clients exactly the same way you would want to be treated. Veronica is very proud to have James Hunt Construction as a member of the Women's Business Enterprise Council (WBENC).
From day one, "Make it Happen" became our company motto. We know if we didn't make it happen, someone else surely would. Keeping those three words in mind, along with providing our clients experienced, quality-driven onsite superintendents, top-notch project managers and a highly organized office staff, has placed James Hunt Construction among the top tenant finish contractors in the United States.
Today and the future
Today, James Hunt Construction, with its three divisions headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, now offers its services in 39 states. We take pride in the service we offer and look forward to the next 25 years and beyond. We strive to be the best at what we do, and provide our clients the same family values that started our company over 25 years ago.
